The Power of Love

Céline Dion was not the only one describing the power of love. Many scientists analyzed the subject and went through the merits of love in different contexts: health, social and even financial. The power of love touches them all. We have gathered five interesting research results about love and its benefits.
1- To feel happier
It is a pure chemical reaction! Being in love makes the brain produce more serotonin. Serotonin is a chemical created by the human body that works as a neurotransmitter. Some researchers consider it the major element for maintaining mood balance, and that a deficit of serotonin drives to depression.
2- To heal faster
Love is not only about a good mood but also about a better physical condition. In 2005, a search lead by Ohio University on 42 couples, proved that those engaged in a happy marriage healed earlier than the other couples.
3- To feel secure
There are three basic needs for survival – air, water, food. However, these quantitative elements help you live. The idea is to be alive! When you have constant love, support, and care, you automatically become less worried. You feel secure in the presence of someone as if you have a constant support system beside you.
4- To understand yourself better
When in a relationship, you assess yourself, your responses, and your behaviour for at least the first few months. This allows you to understand yourself better in every term and you strive to make yourself a better person. This is not in order to impress your partner but to become a good human being altogether. When a person loves you, they love you for who you are and they do not try to change you. Therefore, you evolve into a better person and are mindful of that. Even if that relationship fails, you not only know what you do not want in your partner, you also know what mistakes you are not going to repeat
5- To share life responsibilities
Your partner might be more understanding than your roommate is. Imagine if you have divided work and someday, you are too tired to carry it out yourself. A roommate will ignore it until you do it but a partner will make sure you get rest and do the work assigned to you on his/her own. This understanding simply springs from love and care. Worse, if you are living alone, having a partner means you will have someone to share all the household work with.
